After more than a decade of standstill green light was now given by the Governor of the Red Sea to rebuild the site of the former Sheraton hotel.
For the billion project of a Saudi-Arabian company , even the coastal road that runs along very close to the beach of the Red Sea in that area, will be moved so apartments, a new marina and a hotel may arise.
As early as 1993 it came to the purchase of the land, but there have been difficulties in getting building permits for the mega-project.
The Sheraton Hotel was the first hotel in Hurghada and has thus become a symbol.
Many found the vacancy of recent years sad and are looking forward to the revival.
We here on Hurghada Information will follow up and keep you informed about the progress.
